SuSe 9.1 and GIF's

Hi Folks,

Recently migrated and enjoying SuSe 9.1.

I've just added two items via Yast.
ungif
ungifsicle

These are similar to Animation shop and Gif Construction Shop.

I can't seem to get the programmes running! I've looked for Icons in Kde and Gnome and tried 'run'.

I must be missing something very simple!

Any Ideas welcomed.

Cobalt.

Welcome to LQ!

What commands are you entering, and what error(s) or other messages are you seeing? It's difficult to determine what the problem might be if the description is only that the programs don't start. -- J.W.

SuSe 9.1 and GIF animation.

Hi JW,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm really just plodding in the dark here! All I would like to do is run the programme GIFSICLE.

I've found the website and Gifsicle does exist as a gif animation editor.

I've now found the files in /usr/bin/gifsicle
and /usr/bin/gifview. What are the next steps.

I've tried 'RUN' and I get 'do you really want to execute the file /usr/bin/gifsicle ' I click yes, but nothing happens!

Thanks for your paitence!

Try to start it from konsole or xterm (or any terminal emulator you use) and tell us what is going on, any error messages, any output?
