I know this might sound a little far fetched, but SuSe is known to have support for NTFS, but the weird thing is it generates mount points in fstab, but does not create the directories. For instance this was the line that was generated:

Called: mount -tntfs /dev/hde5 /windows/D -o ro,noauto,user,umask=000

but, when I try to mount with kwik disk

I get this error message:

Called: mount -tntfs /dev/hde5 /windows/D -o ro,noauto,user,umask=000
mount: mount point /windows/D does not exist

I was lost as to why SuSe would generate that in fstab, but not create the directories. I had to manually mkdir for /windows/D in root. Not really a big deal, but just something that I thought would question.

I was suggested to create this post so it may shed more light, maybe there is a utility in SuSe 8 pro for x windows that will configure your mounts point? If there is, I haven't found it. I've tired linux configuration in KDE, but that module wasn't available for me. I tried in YAST but all they had was "partitioner" and all that does is edit/create new mounts.

So is it working now that you created the directory? If you search a bit, you'll find I had the same problem and fixed it the same way except I added auto to my fstab line concerning the NTFS partition

What you should try is lose the "no" off of auto.

Well, I am confused. So when you boot up, your NTFS partition doesn't get mounted, but this is only because the directory didn't exist and you had "noauto" in the fstab entry. So what would have happened if you hadn't created the directory, but had changed noauto to auto first, and then ran mount -a? hmmm... Maybe I will give it a try tomorrow.

Haven't had thechance to get to it yet, but I will most def, delete the dir, and put auto on, when I get a chance.
