Yeah, Slackware-current has TONS of new crap in it. I'll bet close after GNOME 2 comes out Slack 8.1 will follow.

paying for linux is lame. bandwidth and a burner are all i need to get the latest version of slack. all you're really paying for with a store bought slack distro are the cds, the manual, and the nice shiney box. :-)

I don't have the bandwidth, but i'm not paying 40$ even though I would if I had to. I'll be going to linuxcentral and buying the set for what will probably be 15$ after shipping.

KDE/Qt3 are in slackware-current now, Patrick must be waiting for gnome 2 before releasing 8.1.

Hmmm...

Luckily being next to one of the bigger mirrors on the planet, I was able to get Slack 8 the day it came out from a local anonymous mirror.

I've got a lot of CDRs.

I get free postage...

Hmm...

Cheers,

Finegan

After hearing all of that, sheesh, you've got yourself a nice little business opportunity there. If nothing else, some dude here in Seattle who would pay you to burn it and send it to me, I mean him!
