It's going to want to run gksu /usr/sbin/firestarter when you click firestarter from the Applications > System Tools. Even though you enter the correct password it will say that it is incorrect. Simply go to Applications > System Tools - right click on Firestart and select Properties. In the launcher properties window that appears, under the Basic tab (there by default) you will see the forth text area is called Command. It is here that it will say:

gksu /usr/sbin/firestarter

change it by adding 'do' to the end of gksu as such

gksudo /usr/sbin/firestarter

Your password will now work.
