downloading with unbuntu

I have tried several different ways to download Java but everytime I try, it goes to the download screen, fills the bar the entire way but never loads onto my computer. I mean to say that the bar is full and the time is at 00 but it never changes over to say complete. All I am trying to do is download Java so that I can run Limewire (which does download but cannot run because of the lack of Java). Is there something I can do to get the download to finish? I am running unbuntu.

Believe me, I've tried. The problem is that my computer is beginning the install but will not complete it.
