Hello Guys,
Which Linux distribution is most common for server use. By distro I mean the free ones like fedora, slackware, debia etc.

In real life I see a lot of CentOS. Debian-stable is also quite common.

I've seen a couple of Red Hat Enterprise, Red Hat 9 and a couple of Debian.

Where is Slackware

I use slackware for my home server. Nothing important or greatly used.

I use Slackware boxes for CVS, Oracle (10g) and SFTP hosting for the State Health department here. Admittedly, the corporate Linux here is Suse (it's a Novell shop) so these are exceptions to the rule.

Most of the places I've had as clients and/or done work for use combinations of Fedora, Mandriva, and SuSe.

Personally I swear by Slackware as a LAMP.

From alot of reading on the net, I see Redhat & Debian mention the most. Of course BSDs probably are used more than Linux.

Well, you hijacked the thread then. Much better.
And ... you posted in the wrong forum. Even better.

Kind of old article, I leave the value of it up to your judgement.

Maybe not most common, but I know that Slackware runs some of the longest-running servers on the web.

I see a lot of Red Hat, but that's because any idiot who wants to run a hosting service can install Red Hat.

Kids...

I'd say Debian, or anything Debian based that's relatively stable.
