Misc problems in SuSE 7.3

hmm.. i have some misc problems with SuSE 7.3 on one computer

licq sounds dont work

can recive messages but those i send .. dont arrive

Xchat doest work .. no ident response

I would be wery happy if someone could help me with those problems ..

if your running SuSE firewall, disable it and see if things improve.

1. the firewall is not on..

2. my soundfiles are there .. but licq is silent

Yes, me too, all kinds of Problems with SuSe 7.3, Sounds, copying CDs, etc. I thought Linux was supposed to be better than Windows. Got that wrong. You have to be a computer expert, but if you are, you can get Windows to work too.

If you have any tips on Linux, glad to hear them

as for the licq, you will need to install the cvs version as aol/icq have changed the network protocol when they released icq2001b

go to www.licq.org, then go to the download section, and choose 1.1.0a nd get the daily tarball.
