well, depends on what version of RedHat you tried out... i mean, i've been able to get my GUI working on my RedHat 6.0 distro, and then on every distro ever since.... same goes for SuSE, Caldera, and Mandrake, whose recent version's i've tried.
I've tried several Linux distros, but Mandrake was the first one that actually worked on my computer. Maybe after a few years of screwing around with Linux, I'll migrate to Slackware or something like that. However, at this stage of my Linux experience (novice) Mandrake is easier to install and work with ... Not to mention the fact that Mandrake offers three CD-roms worth of iso images, free for the downloading (Mandrake 8.1)
