Is anyone using kernel 2.5.50 with a generic Mandrake 9.0 install? I've tried to compile, both using the stock 9.0 .config file from /boot, and doing my own menuconfig and xconfig, but can never get past make dep without multiple errors. I've updated the required stuff in the 2.5.50 Documentation/changes file, but it didn't seem to help. Maybe I left something out, but I was careful to be sure and have the versions needed for installing the new kernel. Could it be gcc 3.2 is causing the problems? Another person said to get Rusty's 2.5.50 patch at kernel.org, and another said to get the kernel headers for 2.5 and updated modutilities, but I don't know if changing the modutils will break my present install- I read something to that effect. Any ideas out there?
