Live CDs/DVDs because my computer isn't ready...

Well, I still got about a week or two before my little computer that I found and bought will come. This is the computer I want to install (as in my previous thread decided) Slackware. However, I still have a lot of time so I wouldn't mind to try some Live CD/DVDs to get myself warmed up.
Now, there are a lot of Live cd/dvds out there and like in my previous thread, I am not looking for something that will go too easy on me. Also, I would like to see the ability to save some settings on a harddrive or USB stick.
Any recommendations?

Well, I read that Slax just wasn't a good live CD in general. Maybe I read wrong, I'm not too sure...

Since you're likely going to use Slack, for Live CD/DVD's, I'd suggest Zenwalk(based on Slackware), Gentoo, Sabayon(based on Gentoo).

Slax has some rough edges, but is so small sleek and nifty

OTOH Zenwalk is eyecandy on top of 100% Slackware. And besides eyecandy, has all attributes Slax has + is more like Slackware than Slax.

If You like KDE -> Slax
If You like XFCE and speed -> Zenwalk
Both A+

Chances are if you use Slax you may not want Slackware after all.

My solution is have them all because a distro is not a partner you sleep so there is no need to be faithful to any one.

Chances are, after You try all of them, You just get back to Slack as we did too.
