linux nas from floppy


is there any form of linux that will run something like a remote controlled NAS box? i need a backup server and it would be nice if i could just boot linux off a disk and have it control my hdds shares via Samba or NFS.

i was looking ad the different coyote linux distros but they do not really have a file sharing setup.

ideas?

I know this is a late reply, but I too am looking for a NAS OS. Booting from a floppy isn't a big desire for me, I need SATA RAID support. In my searches I ran across NASLite. It sounds like what you were asking for. Their web site is:
