I just downloaded Knoppix from emule, what a great distro!
I just put the cd rebooted and I had a fully functional Linux Server with Samba already running, the knoppix server was visible in the network hood I was able to browse it, not problem.
Problem is they are about to shutdown knoppix in Europe.
They aren't shutting down *yet* it's a warning
about what could happen if software patents are
approved by the EU.
Software patents are strangling software development
in the US. Except for large companies which cross license
their huge portfolios of patents to each other software
development is a minefield.
Yea knoppix is good, I've also tried the slack-live and like it but doesn't detect my cd-rom, haven't had a chance to work on that yet, and fire is pretty good but haven't had a chance to really get into it yet, maybe Thanksgiving weekend.
