Knoppix 3.3 - Awesome!!!!

Has anyone used the KNOPPIX 3.3?

I have just recently heard about it, and i've actually aquired a copy of it. And so far, i think its awesome. 2Gigs worth of installed software on all running fromt he cd. All of my video, sound, etc. drivers were all available from the cd on all of the boxes i've tried it on. Seems to me like this is pretty awesome for someone who wants dual boot w\o the dual.

Anyone else tried this or know of any other really cool things i can do w\ it that i don't know about yet?

I just burned the ISO for it last night, but haven't had a chance to try it.

I currently carry 3.2 in my laptop bag as an all-purpose tool/recovery CD.

I find its an awesome way to introduce people to Linux.

yeah it totally is. My boss is a Linux guru but for some reason he had not heard as much about and had never tried it. and you are right, it is unbelievable for recovery. I wish i had this a long time ago when my desktop was, , Windows, .

And plus, its cool to be able to just boot into a basic linux environment from where ever, and be fully functional.

I just downloaded and burnt a copy a couple of weeks ago and think it's pretty awesome also. I haven't had a chance to look thru it good yet though, been pretty busy. But you know what's pretty cool also is Knoppix-std.(security tools distribution). You should check that out. http://www.knoppix-std.org/

knoppix is mainly good for instroducing people to the way that kde works and some ideas about how linux work, gnoppix is good for gnome, yes it available!

I use it for a recvery cd in case f**king m$ f**ks up.
I dont need it as an operating system all the time as i have linux there anyway, also i need alot o advanced things and all in knoppix it is locked away, unless anyone knows that knoppix root password?

so thats my question
what is the knoppix root password?
im useing 3.1 at the moment, but if people can get me a password for other version of noppix (k or G) then id probally go download it straight away

you can reset the knoppix root password yourself. I know this is possible b/c i did it myself, i just can't remember the exact way right now. run a search for "Knoppix + root password" in google and i'm sure you'll find it.

and by the way, i wasn't talking about using it as a full time OS, that's kinda crazy. But i do love it for recovering and **other uses**. (just knoppix alone isn't as much fun, but the Knoppix-STD is more fun to play with.

Knoppix-STD
