How do I install Ubuntu from floppy?

Very simple problem, difficult solution for a novice...

I have ubuntu on CDROM.
I have a PC with a working CDROM drive.
The BIOS has no option to boot from the CDROM drive.
Ubuntu has no floppy install disks.

Help?

Have you tried updating your BIOS? What type of pc do you have?, there may be a specific key sequesnce to enable cd boot, or (as with older Compaq laptops) it may automatically pick up a cd on boot.

You can boot from a floppy and switch to CD using the Smart BootManager. There is a howto in the Ubuntu Linux wiki:

Already tried SMB - CDRom doesn't show in the listing.

I've checked the bios, and even updated it, and still no joy.

And I'm using linux because I want to make use of an old box. Defeats the object if i buy a new box.

I'll try the '98 thing, but don't think it'll work...
