Question About a tiny server Linux distro with MySQL, VNCserver and Samba

HI fellas

A have a simple question.

I have a customer with 4 terminals and my application using MySQL.

Today i'm using a workstation as a non-dedicated server. In that workstation i put my Application and the MySQL database. All ok.

I found in this customer an oldie PC (Pentium 233 32 mg). I would like to transform it in a tiny server.

So, I need some tiny Linux distro with this 3 programs:

* MySQL server

* VNCserver

* Samba

a) Is there any distro with these 3 programs?

b) I know some little distros as Puppy or Damn Small Linux. On these Linuxes, is it possible to install those services?

Thanks on advance.

try slack if can you use tightvnc? (available from linuxpackages.net)
slack will run on a 486, plus you can really strip it bare if you need to

Question Thanks, pal

Thanks, pal

So, i need a really tiny linux ditro: the basic network services and only those 3 softwares: a vnc server, mysql and samba. No gui's and no anothers programs. Slack is customizable like that?

Thanks Again

yes, you can choose your software during install, you would have to know which packages you need though. I suggest using everything in the 'a' 'l' and 'n' section to start with and see what you can remove from those sections during the install process.
