I prefer "1 taskbar" desktop environments before "2 taskbars" desktop environments because it's better to have everything in one "line" instead of one taskbar at the top, one taskbar/dock on the left or at the bottom.
So, I have a hard time to understand why would people use Unity or even Gnome 2. Not talking about the many mac-dock-like widgets, etc. My top desktop environments are KDE, Cinnamon, Windows10's - or even the old win 7 is quite good - eventhough it's much harder to customize Windows taskbar than linux DE taskbars.
And I absolutely hate Mac, even more than Unity, because in Unity you at least don't have the "empty ears" around the dock like here

There are many things that Windows did wrong, but the start menu, opened apps and notification area in 1 taskbar is something that should be given credit for.
In my opinion and experience it's more productive than the Macintosh-way. especially when multitasking.
So, if you are not using the classic windows-like task bar in Linux, what is your reasoning. I am interested in that very much.
I am mostly interested in opinions of users of the 2 or more taskbars on one desktop with the classic windows managers and even tiling window managers like awesome, xmonad or i3 and what is the reason why you use more than 1 taskbar.
