Hello all.
I installed apt-get for rpm to get some gstreamer stuff going (another thread in inself - but that could be for another day).
With a sources.list file with no sources listed (all #'d out) running apt-get update && apt-get upgrade (testing that all my installed packages are alright) results with
Code:
[root@localhost rpms]# apt-get upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
qt: Depends: Xft (>= 2.0) but it is not installable
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
[root@localhost rpms]#
When using apt-get -f upgrade I get
Code:
[root@localhost rpms]# apt-get -f upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done

Abort.

How can I go about fixing this problem? It seems that Xft no longer exists as a package as XFree86-(libs|tools) replaces it.
Edit: I should also add that it was a RH8 box and I upgraded it (using the RH9 CDs).
