problems with apt-get and my rpm-database

Hi all,
I just noticed that all the packages that are "not installed" are not in my rpm-database anymore... Synaptic says i have 966 packages listed, and 965 installed. In the "not installed" section, there is cpuburn and that's all, no kde-stuff, no other progams...

I tried running:
$ rpm --rebuilddb
$ apt-get clean
$ apt-get update

i tried removing the items in /var/state/apt/lists/ and doing apt-get clean, but it still doesn't work...

I'm getting desperate... can someone please help me?

Has there been any recent updates to you apt package? When you open synaptic, under preferences -> Repos are the repos listed there the same as you were using?? Are there any errors when updating package listings?

there is no problem with the repo's, they are as they should be, no errors with updating, nothing, it simply looks like there are no more packages...

i'm going to try to completly erase apt, and find / -name apt and kill the remaining-apt files also, i hope this will solve it...
