/usr/share/xsessions

Hi,

I added a new .desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions , however Fedora 26 isn't showing it as an option on login.

I'm using Cinnamon and have tried killing lightdm.

Do I need to edit any configuration for it to show?

I'm not sure if you would have to edit a configuration file or not.
I've never played with it:-

Here's an Xsessions WiKi that might help.

Lightdm is part of the display mgr so killing it might not be good for the Cinnamon DE.

-::-Try looking in 'show hidden files' in your file manager under 'view'. Is the desktop file you created there?-::-

Thanks.

Sorted it in the end.

My .desktop file was referring to a command with args in Exec and TryExec fields.

Changed it to refer to a script instead and now working.

You're Welcome.

Glad to hear it's working.

Was the script fairly easy to write?
