I am currently using totem to watch dvd's, I have the sound but no picture, it was working before any ideas on what to do. I checked the synaptic package manager and I dont have any broken programs..

Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

Have you tried VLC ? I don't know how to fix totem, but vlc works out of the box with the widest variety of file formats. That way I don't have to screw around trying to track down codecs.
