Lightbulb Sound output from two computers at once -- possible?

Hi,

can you think of any way of "redirecting" sound output from one computer to another computer, so I can hear the same thing from speakers connected to two computers, possibly miles away from each other?

It can be anything. It doesn't have to neccessarily be on the sound server level, it can, for example, be an XMMS plugin.

Preferably, it should be synchronized, but if you know a way that isn't, write it anyway.

I'm not talking about any black magic here, the computers are obviously connected by a local network or internet (preferably, it should work via SSH, but if you have a good solution that would only require a different daemon/protocol, write it anyway).

Any suggestions or hints are welcome. Let this be a discussion! And... don't ask me why I'd need such a stupid thing... it's a long story
