Since compiz install, Xscreensaver is super slow

Hello. I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 and recently switched to Compiz. Since then, Xscreensaver is super slow. When I switch back to Beryl, Xscreensaver works normally. Any idea what I should start tweaking?

Screensaver issue

Do you have anything else? I'd really like to figure out why this isn't working. A lot of people have seen the Linux screensavers and it's gotten a lot of attention. It's a great way to sell Linux over Windows. On top of that, I really like them myself, when they work, that is.

Of course, I could just shrug it off and say "Hey, it isn't Windows, what should I expect?" But I'd rather actually fix this issue.
