Running Quicken under Wine?

I have been using Quicken off and on for several years - on a Windows laptop given to me by my company. But I've changed jobs and don't have access to that any more. I use Linux at home, and I've made a stab at GnuCash, but I'm not comfortable with it yet. Once upon a time, I tried running Quicken under Crossover Office, but I didn't have a lot of success with the more recent versions of Quicken (and I don't have Crossover any more either). So with that as background, can someone tell me if I can install Quicken 2006 or 2007 under Wine and expect it to run correctly? If so, can you point me to some documentation on how to install a program under wine? I have not used that package at all (I know Crossover makes use of it, but I have not used it by itself).

Thanks very much,

nbc

For your distributions:

yum install wine

Then just mount the CD, and double-click the installer (just as you would on Windows), or from a command line:

wine /media/cdrom/setup.exe

Replace the name of the installer with your specific path and executable. If the software wants (or runs better) in a different version of Windows, then go to the desktop menu Applications->System Tools->Wine Configuration. There you can set the version that wine will report. I find that a lot of software performs better when wine reports WinNT or Win2K.

Look at Moneydance. The cost is about $30. It downloads from my bank and various credit card companies. I have moved away from Quicken completely.
