Opening Pulseeffects mutes the sound

Opening Pulseeffects mutes the sound. The sound comes back again when I use the command pulseeffects -q . Does anyone know how pulseeffects is muting my sound?

I'm on Lubuntu LXQT.

I've tried running pulseeffects -r in the terminal and that didn't do anything.

I'm also unable to find the documentation. Clicking the help button in the upper right corner of the Pulseeffects window leads to an error page.

I've filed a bug based on what happened. Does anyone know a workaround?

I found out I should not be using Pulseeffects, I should be using Easyeffects, a newer version of the app.

I found some documentation at https://wwmm.github.io/easyeffects/

Having solved my own problem, I will now mark this thread as solved.
