Menu icon no longer in Bottom Menu Bar.

I have installed Linux Mint 16 Mate. For some unknown reason I have lost the "MENU" button on the bottom Menu Bar. Like right now I have no way to get to the various options, Software packages install fonts etc. I have the green Icon to open the desktop I have the Firefox and thunderbird Icons that I placed there I have a terminal Icon....these areon the left side. The "Menu" with the little circle should beto the left of these, but they are no longer visable. What have I done.???? Can someone solve my problem.. Thanks.

Harvey in Kelowna BC.
