Hi. I am playing with a little box that has a built in screen and is running off the CM-iGLX boarde (AMD Geode LX CPU).
It is currently running a vanilla net-install of Debian Lenny core system. I have Apt-Get installed on top of that the X-Window-System X-video driver, and Matchbox.
After getting over teething problems, and getting X to work I am now playing with various bits and pieces.
Lowest on my list of priorities is getting it to auto login. There are only 2 users - "user" and "root" and I want it to log in to "user" automatically and start Matchbox, preferably without using a Display Manager.
As this unit has a built in trackpad, and was designed to be portable I want to enable Matchbox-keyboard so as not to have a USB Kbd trailing from it. ATM, I am logging in manually (no display manager). this is giving me the standard X-Window grey screen with an Xterm in one corner. From that I can start Matchbox-Session - but once started, that xterm will not accept any more inputs. As such, I cannot start matchbox-keyboard.
Next up, how do I add "Icons" to the Matchbox "Desktop". I have Apt-Get installed Xfe, Rox-Filer and Aterm and no icons have appeared. I downloaded and "dpkg -i" the Opera .deb file (downloaded directt from
www.opera.com) and that has place an icon on the desktop.
I have read through thte Matchbox site, and either I am missing something or no info is given on further configuration (I am likely missing something)
Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
