How do you create shortcuts to "folders" and "binaries" in GNOME?

I am using GNOME and I would like to be able to create shortcuts to folders and binaries like I do in Windows.

I've used the launcher feature, but its too cumbersome and I dont know how to make it point to a folder without writing a command to explicitly launch Nautilus.

Is there a more user friendly or Windows-like way to do this? ie. right click -> "create shortcut here"

Thank you chuck, I spent at least a day to figure this out, only if I knew it was this easy.
