hi,
I have a clean pc and I would like to install Ubuntu, I received a Live cd and wanted to boot for installation. After I choose my language and clicked on what i want to do ("install Ubuntu") He starts to load butafter a while I get the following error message:
[xxx.xxxxxx] Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block 0
I already figured out that it has something to do with my floppy drive, though I have no FD in my configuration...
I've been searching for it but can't find anything that refers to something like a floppydisk...
It is a total new hard drive, came straight from the shop. When I put it in together with a former HDD with Vista installed I cannot find the drive, it is registered, but he is notshownion 'My PC'...
It should definately be there in your bios. Have a look for FDC (floppy disk controller), it might be in your peripherals section. As for your hard drive not being recognised, did you...
1. Make sure that you changed the jumper on the drive to the correct setting.
2. Set the option in your bios to auto detect your drive.
Is this a custom built pc? If not what make and model is it?
