Cinnamon "Lock Screen Off" not working

Hello All,

Using Debian Bookworm with Cinnamon DTE. After looking on line, I found the way to keep the screen from automatically going to lock screen after being idle. I selected disable-lock-screen using dconf-editor but it keeps locking the screen after 10 minutes or so. I've also used:

gsettings set org.cinnamon.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen true

Which didn't help either. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

PB

I am running Cinnamon on Mint and PCLOS. No issue for me to disable lock in the dialogs for screensaver and the one for power management. Have you checked both places to see if your changes in the config files are reflected? Don't forget that if your laptop's power mgmt (check both battery and plugged in areas) is putting it to sleep during inactivity the lock still needs to be disabled in the screensaver section(s) specifically for those scenarios. I briefly had cinnamon on bookworm and don't recall having any issue. My only Debian install ATM is KDE so I don't know if it is something peculiar to your distro/DE combo. Could be miscommunication involving your particular HW even.

Hi Nishtya,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I was working via power management but as you pointed out, the screensaver section needed to be adjusted as well. Seems like an obvious step to take in retrospect but I overlooked it. ;-) Screen no longer auto-locks; thanks again for pointing that out.
