What distribution to use if you are preparing for RHCE
HI
I am planning to go for RHCE certification.
I came to know it requires "Red Hat LINUX Enterprise 5" distribution for preperation.
Can we use any other LINUX distribution to prepare for RHCE, like Fedora? Because in one of the books i read that Fedora was used as a test bed for "Red Hat LINUX Enterprise 5".
Otherwise where can i download "Red Hat LINUX Enterprise 5" from?

Does Red Hat test for any of their reporting tools (sosreport) or anything unique to their environment?
I asked the original question about tools like sosreport, because if CentOS does not have every tool that RH uses, like sosreport, it would make a close to 100% good learning environment and then whoever takes the test will have to be aware of those tools that are not part of CentOS but are part of RH.
I do not know the answer to this question, and really do not need to know it, because if I were to go for RH certification, I'd use one of our RH EL 4 systems running in our lab.

Reason: fix last sentence.

I didn't see sosreport in the prepguide. So I don't think that you need to worry about that.
But you are right...it's better to practice on the "real" thing...
If you are going to use RHEL...use 5.2 because you will be tested on RHEL 5...not RHEL 4
You can get RHEL trail version (30-day trial)...after the 30 days you can still use RHEL and it will keep functioning...what you won't get is updates and access to the RHN (i.e. yum will stop working)...but other than than it will still work...
