Unhappy Would anyone happen to have ATTBI/Comcast?

For some reason I can't send mail. I think I have to configure kmail a certain way. My SMTP mail server is set to smtp.comcast.net but when I try to send mail I get this message:
Quote:
Sending failed:
The server did not accept the sender address.
The server responded: "must have local@DOMAIN - <Tim <*>> "
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
Note: Other messages will also be blocked by this message, as long as it is in the 'outbox' folder
The following transport protocol was used:
smtp.comcast.net
I think it has something to do with the Default Domain setting. That's set to "localhost". Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Just to clarify, I can recieve but not send.

I've got Comcast, formerly ATTBI, and I can send and receive mail using Netscape 4.77 mail just fine. I also use smtp.comcast.net as my outbound mail server and I login with my chosen username "tomdkat". My e-mail address is "tomdkat@comcast.net" and is configured this way in Netscape 4 mail.

What happens if you change ANY domains you have configured in kmail to "comcast.net"?

Peace...

I'm now using Mozilla 1.6's mail client and I'm not having any problems at all. I've got smtp.comcast.net on port 25 specified and I DO have Mozilla configured to specify my user id and sometimes I get prompted for my password when I send mail.

What mail client are you using?

Peace...

kmail must have loac@DOMAIN error

Did you ever get a solution for the Kmail 'must have loacl@DOMAIN' error? I am having the same issue with Kmail (suse 9.0) connecting to Comcast.

Whoa, I live in Maryland and I use comcast. I wasn't aware that they were a national company.
