Windows XP BSOD - miraculously recoverd - dual boot

I copied Hirens Boot CD Image to my XP partition for further processing.

Then I tried to boot into XP, next thing you know:
https://i.imgsafe.org/bd5c2d0877.jpg

Safe Mode gives BSOD after some idling at DontGo.SYS (some kind of disk control driver).

At this point I was willing to remove the Windows XP install, yet, I do need it to connect to my 2002 Volkswagen by OBDII with USB cable w/ FTDI chip. Unfortunately Linux applications for reading DTC error codes, etc., are unknown to me.

The Blues Screen of death CONFIG_LIST_FAILED points to registry hives not being able being linked in the registry tree. Too bad. Last known config also doesn't work, registry backups with ERUNT or something I don't keep anymore.

The mentioned reference B2479BB8 I couldn't find with Google.

Further research shows this BSOD occurs often when the hard drive is full or near full. Well, so I delete the copied Hiren image of 600 MB. OK now I have 600 MB free, and Windows XP boots alright...
