Depends on machine, All my linux machines are set to blank page and all my windows machine are set to windows update (not kidding, you need it)

i think kev82 has what i have, a local page with all the links of normally travelled places.
this works great. everytime a new tab is opened, the page i want is most likely one click away.

yep, its also good because when i havnt got a connection mozilla doesnt try to connect to the web.
