Whatever happened to dockapps.org?

Does anybody know why the dockapps have disappeared from dockapps.org? I thought it was up just a couple weeks ago.

The text on the main page has the following, and attempts to search for dockapps (or download them from previously known URLs) gives similar amounts of nothing:

Quote:
Welcome to dockapps.org!
Looking for your favorite dockapp? Are you tired of a particular
author's website being unavailable right when you need his or her code
the most? The dockapps.org website is the premiere archive and
information store for all your add-on needs.

Why don't you ask them instead? Unless anyone here is owner, admin or part of that site, they're most likely not going to have an accurate answer. whois lookups are your friend if there's not contact on the site itself.

If it's any help to you, I have around 40 or so of the best DockApps on my site:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...load/DockApps/

Nearly al these have been updated recently so that they work with recent versions of WindowMaker and can be compiled with gcc>=3.4.
I don't have more of them because most DockApps don't justify the screen space they take up or are just useless *period*. If you had some sepcific apps or categories in mind, let me know. I may have the sources for them or be able to find them and fix them up just like the others.

I have always used WindowMaker and have a nicely patched version on the same site:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/...wmaker-0.92.0/
This version includes the runbox history feature. The way the DockApps above are fixed, they acn be run with wmaker 'dockless'. That is, I use it without the dock or clip being on the desktop. i use the old ROX-Filer and take advantage of its' superior handling of desktop icons and also use taskbar or fbpanel as a panel app. But I also have other choices on my site so you can put together whatever combination you like.

Also have various other wmaker goodies -like the sound server (also updated) and wmakerconf.

Just go up a few levels from those dirs and you'll find about 500 GTK-1.2 apps, 15-20 window managers and plenty of other goodies... i believe I have the most complete collection of light-weight desktop items ever assembled in one place.

My site has had those there for several years, excpet for a time when the ibiblio servers had crashed and it took a while before I re-uploaded everything. Do tell me if there's anything you miss there, or if you know of and have a particularly useful dock app I'll add it to my collection.

Incidentally, dockapps.org is back up. I wasn't able to remember the name of the dockapp that I was looking for, but it is wmfu. Doesn't seem to compile for me any more. About six months ago (when I was running Slackware), it compiled just fine and was very useful.
