Definitely a blood/circulation thing dude. Your brain is starving for oxygen and apparently it doesn't have a reliable supply.
Chronic near syncopic episodes? Causes might be: stress, anemia, mononucleosis or other serious disease, poor diet, extreme sedentary lifestyle, heart disease, cancer... definitely worth going to a doctor especially if it happens more than once.
Your dad probably wants you to take it like a man at your age and not complain about it which I guess is admirable from a masculine point of view. However, if you're concerned then you tell your parents that you aren't being a wuss and you have a problem that isn't a one-time thing... rest assured you're on your way to the doctor.
I get these every so often but they're usually isolated incidents where I never really lose consciousness though I come close. In the past I got them maybe at most every 3 or 4 months. I saw a doctor once... he told me it's my body's way of telling me that I need to eat better and more frequently than once a day, get some regular exercise, reduce stress. I tend to eat one absolutely gigantic meal a day and usually it's not the healthiest thing. I can't break that habit but my body tells me when I'm being stupid.
See a doctor or suffer my dad would say...
In a completely unrelated issue, my mother once told me that if I didn't see a doctor and I ended up dying that it would have been my own damn fault for being stupid.
Yes I went to the doctor and got my week of medication and all is well...
It's just so easy sometimes.
EDIT: I forgot the moral of my story... see a doc or don't complain about it.
