to ChasidashHarry (sorry that i probably spelled you name wrong)

Shalom, Boker Tov.
What in the world is up with trying to disprove E=MC2? I'm clueless.

What are you trying to ask? I don't get it. (I just don't want to answer the wrong question)

you have frequently talked about disproving the widely-excepted theory of E=MC2, i just don't get why you are trying to dissprove on of the most universally-excepted theorms

Maybe he means your signature .. you know the part where it says

Quote:
E = MCē ?

- Me

Looks like you question yourself about such a theory

Well, besides for the fact that the first person who would formally disprove it would probably become a very rich man (), there are basically 2 reasons as to why I am persistent with this:

1) I have a great interest in science. Any pure and/or applied science. I have literally lost count of the number of books that I read about Physics and Quantum Mechanics. A very important and useful observation is that most things in science were learned through unacceptability of generally popular beliefs. (Take Copernicus, for example...) E=MCē is not an exception. I believe that if we look deeper and deeper into the formula itself, we just might be able to find a loophole. After all, Einstein was a human. A genius, but still a human.

2) It's just one of the things that gets me to think deeper in whatever I do - music, math, chess etc.... Challenging your brain is one of the most effective ways to sharpen it.

Understand?

Regards,
Jerry

p.s. Jose, you're probably right I'm not sure of it myself, obviously.

but you know, if you go back in time, people would have called you a loony for challenging Aristostle's beliefs in how matter is created, so I guess you have a point

I enjoy chess sometimes, ChasidishHarry.
If you have ICQ or MSN, and would like to play me in a game of online chess sometime, I would be honured

All right Harry... you disprove E = MC2
I'm gonna prove that you can go faster than light(sorry can't remember the name of the theory at the mo). No matter what anyone says I just don't think light speed is the limit.
Like you said Einstein was a genius but he was still only human.
Who is your favorite scientist? Mine is Nikola Tesla.
Well adios amigo

i think in one of his other posts chasidisharry talked about light not necessarily moving at a constant speed, and that being part of his research/theory against E = MC2 that being the case you ought to work with him as his research will lend to yours in the future

edit
sorry if i butchered the meaning of what you said harry, or if you never actually said it at all, im not exactly a science whiz since i have very little interest in it
/edit

Yeah, I said something like that. If you completely and scientifically shatter that phrase, that "the speed of light is constant", you have disproved the theory of E=MCē, because that's the crutch on which it relies on.

Oh, and WindowsBurner, my favorite scientist is................Albert Einstein! Like I said long ago, I am a huge fan of Einstein, but that doesn't stop me from challenging his reasoning.

Regards,
Jerry

p.s. WB, are you talking about the theory of Special Relativity?

Just do me one favor: please not on this thread. I would hate a logical scientific discussion going berserk with multiple political ideas and views. (I don't mean to offend anyone regarding politics, I'm just saying to stick with the topic )
