I'm just curious about the gross distribution of faith or non-faith on a forum like this.
I wasn't quite sure how to divide the list. This could easily grow out of proportion, so I decided to put the 'firm believer' on top. Whether it's Polytheism, Monotheism, or some kind of New Age thing. I know some of you don't like to be mashed together, but it is more about the state of mind than the actual religion that I'm interested in.
My thread, my rules
Non-faith is about 95 .
As a person of faith, I can expect 3000 + responses to my posts. :-)
Life is like a box of chocolates...
I have plenty of problems, but I know that something much better awaits me when I pass away.
Atheist believe that "Take what you can, because when you die, that's it."
Atheist believe that "Take what you can, because when you die, that's it."
Evidence? I wouldn't define myself as an "atheist". An ignostic[sic]/apatheist would be more accurate but after nearly 3/4 of a century hanging out with non-believers I have not observed such behaviour unless by "take what you can" you mean "enjoy life to the utmost". You seem to be extremely limited in your knowledge of human nature or else the meaning of your statement is rather obscure.
jdk
Even atheists may be spiritual for spirituality need not have much to do with religion.
Helping others, even though it can be spiritually motivated (or vice-versa), need not necessarily be altruistic.
English can be an inadequate and/or misleading language when it comes to such things!
Happy New Year! Oh yeah, even this is but a Roman thing and insignificant too
