What's a "folder"?

We're all entitled to strong opinions, but I've been quite happy with ADSL. Think it's about £20 a month for our line rental, calls and broadband combined (not all from the same company). I could probably get cheaper, but I'm past the minimum contract so could cancel any time - in these uncertain economic times I don't want to be locked in to another 18-24 month contract.
Of course it helps that the UK broadband market is highly competitive.

My work has been going cable though, for the better speed.

Yeah phone/DSL here is basically local monopolies not that Cable is any different, just that the CATV co's have a bigger pipe and aren't as proud of their bandwidth. Add to that the fact that the cable co will sell me a single service (data) where the phone company would require that I either have cell service or a land line with them, the speeds in my area are capped at 1.5 Mb/s and that's $29.99 just for data. Cable company is 10Mb/s for $35 with an option for 20Mb/s. Also the Cable co doesn't require ANY contract.

Um, no I don't. The way I interpret that is that smeeze is saying that while Linux does have its flaws, Windows has more flaws than Linux, which seems to actually be praising Linux, not trolling against it. Not that I'm encouraging anti-Windows trolling (any kind of trolling is bad news), but it seems that he's doing sort of the opposite of what mattvdh is doing.

Windows is a 32-bit extension of a 16-bit graphical shell of an 8-bit operating system coded for a 4-bit processor by a two-bit company that can't stand one bit of competition.

I find it interesting that the EU has fined Microsoft for doing what almost all GNU/Linux distributions do - bundling one web browser and one media player with the OS. I know that stricter rules are applied to MS because of their monopoly position, but sometimes it does feels like a case of double-standards. And of course in the web browser issue, MS has chosen a resolution that may be fine for the home user, but is exceedingly annoying for small businesses.
