We don't have a television. There's plenty of news and entertainment right on the internet.

Local commercials have to be the worst, especially one here for some plumbing guy - whoever makes it must have an IQ of less than 50.

If I see a stupid commercial, it usually steers me away from that product. Great marketing there!

Not too stupid, but one I always hated:

<daughter>"Mom? Have you ever had that not-so-fresh feeling?"

If you want bad acting, you should see the direct line car insurance adverts in england! For some reason they really annoy me...

How about the Brita Water Filter ads? They're all pretty stupid. And the sanitary devices which are so compact, they're mistaken for sweets by the visiting boyfriend? That's pretty stupid. The LloydsTSB 'No, we really are a touchy-feely caring bank look at these lovely black horses prancing in the street' dumb advert. And don't get me started on the 'Who gives you extra' bold brummy (replaced by a computer generated image) ads. Stoopid.

what gets me here is the way the satellite channels all have so many ads for loan companies - they sure expect their customers to be the over-extended middle class

That, and the 'make plans for the funeral' ads. Not just over-extended mc - the 'about to meet their maker' mc too - these ads especially visible during animal hospital progs and the like!!

and yes, they're loud....but not as loud as the whole of the QVC shopping channel which is sometimes louder than its *own* adverts

He did get a raise. hehe

I agree with you, I HATE commercials for PRESCRIPTION drugs...even worse when they don't say what its for (No no, you don't need to know...run along like a good automaton and beg your doctor for it!! You'll see!!!)
I agree with that, the companies should atleast tell us what the product does. They could say "Do you want to look like a ass infront of your docter?"" cause if you ask your docter about the medicine, theres a great chance you won't need it.
