- If your best friend is killed by a known murderer, what you do?
- If someone attacks you in the subway, what you do?
- If someone is violent with you, what you do?
- If someone curses you, what you do?
- If someone is not nice with you, what you do?
- If someone is acting not the way you would do, what you do?
- If someone is not dressed the way you like, what you do?
- If someone has a different opinion than yours, what you do?
- If someone has a different color than yours, what you do?
Firstly, I do agree that peace is better for everyone.
Those are very broadly stated hypothetical questions though, "If someone is violent with you, what do you do?", and you pair that with questions about people not preferring the actions, speech, race, or opinions of others.
All would be perfectly fine if the first three of your hypothetical questions never were any issue.
Right? If no on murdered anyone, be that friend or never known person. If no one became violent with anyone at any time. And if no one attacked anyone within any venue, such as a subway, or any place.
Problem is, with the billions of people in this world, stuff like that does happen.
A question you haven't poised is what happens if there are atrocities somewhere not in your own area that you are fully aware of? What do you do? Do you watch your neighbor being murdered because it's not your business nor responsibility?
Did anyone notice the 3 Orangutans in the "trial scene" that were covering their eyes, ears and mouth (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil)?

All that being said, wars generate vast amounts of m-o-n-e-y.
For instance, the United States "cannot afford" Social Security anymore ... "cannot afford" public education ... "cannot afford" public hospitals or health care.
But (http://www.militaryindustrialcomplex.com), it saw fit to issue 43public contracts totaling $7,026,021,448.00. (We're not allowed to see the ##CLASSIFIED## ones ...)
In October, the US issued $85 billion in new, public, contracts. (Emphasize: "new," and "public." This is, in other words, the tip of this vast iceberg.)
Therefore, the single most-important thing for the entire US Economy, as it actually stands right now, is: "war, War, WAR, and M-O-R-E . . . W-A-R."
When you hear about "the one percent" and so-on, you are always talking about exactly two underlying sources of income:
Bribery: The nine richest people in America are the nine Justices of the Supreme Court. Since they have the de facto power to enact laws by imperial proclamation, and to override the very text of the US Constitution (e.g. "Citizens United" removed the word 'bribery' from Article 2 Section 4, and re-classified it from "high crime" to "constitutionally protected right.") The remainder of the Congress, the President, and major Commissioners are very close behind, for the same reason.
Defense Contracts: Every bit of America's vast, over-saturated "defense apparatus" is paid for, so "civilian" economic activity is just a pale veneer painted-over the real money source ... "Uncle Sugar."
People like Rep. Ryan make it perfectly clear where their allegiances lie: "We need 'less government' but 'more defense.'" Money that is being spent on the American public is money that is not going to the Military-Industrial Complex, and that is "obviously" a set of mis-placed priorities . . .

Our military organization today bears little relation to that known by any of my predecessors in peacetime, or indeed by the fighting men of World War II or Korea.
Until the latest of our world conflicts, the United States had no armaments industry. American makers of plowshares could, with time and as required, make swords as well. But now we can no longer risk emergency improvisation of national defense; we have been compelled to create a permanent armaments industry of vast proportions. [...] We annually spend on military security more than the net income of all United States corporations.
This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience. The total influence economic, political, even spiritual is felt in every city, every Statehouse, every office of the Federal government. We recognize the imperative need for this development. Yet we must not fail to comprehend its grave implications. Our toil, resources and livelihood are all involved; so is the very structure of our society.
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.
This man, who earned the highest rank that the United States Army could confer (to anyone other than George Washington ...), before becoming Commander-in-Chief, made this warning in1961. As a military commander, he knew first-hand how little (if any ...) "military sense" it made. (In fact, at other times he described it as being in opposition to good military preparedness.) But he was right in fully describing what is the actual "greatest threat to our nation."
When "there is so damned much money in it," "nothing else matters." Except that these "other things" do matter. Military over-spending makes the entire nation anemic and weak, and, in so doing, makes the nation far more vulnerable than it otherwise would be. America won World War II by "out-manufacturing" everybody else. It could not do so again today. It would not even know how.

Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil's pawn. Alone among God's primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother's land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.
Hi...
... There is one is one basic, underlying problem that "infects" the entire human race: sin. This is the cause of what you are speaking of. The solution lies only in Jesus Christ and a heart and life surrendered to Him. It is then, as we obey and follow Him (having been "born again" and received the Holy Spirit) that we are not only forgiven but the sinful attributes in our lives begins to be removed and we are transformed into His perfect likeness. And this is something that is available to every single person on the Earth, including you.
Not for those who have received Jesus, they have received eternal life in heaven. and eventually the New Earth.
Regards...
Really?Sin is made-up by religion, we could put an end to both with some of that education needed world wide for the next evolving centuries...
