spreadsheet editing in a web browser

Hi there,

Could anyone recommend any software for online spreadsheet editing? Obviously, google docs come to mind but it'd rather not use google or any other external hosting. I don't think we really need a fully fledged document management system. It's just for a couple of spreadsheets that need to be updated on a regular basis by people outside of the office. The features I'd like it to have are:

- password protection
- ability to edit a spreadsheet in a browser and export to .xls
- can be hosted on our server

I've been googling for some solutions but thought that, in the meantime, I could ask if any of you can recommend something that you've used and are happy with.

Thank you

Well, here are some I have found, but I have only used Zoho and it is just like Google docs:

http://sheetster.com/index.jsp
http://www.editgrid.com/
http://www.viravis.com/

These are all free for personal use. None are hosted on a local server tho, maybe these will help:

Thanks for your reply. I've seen them and liked some of them but unfortunately external hosting will not do in this case. I found one that looks promising. I don't remember the name. I've got it at work and will try to play with it next week. Other than that, I think I might need to give up on the idea of editing in a browser.
