Hi....

I have recently come across something called 'Software Update Server', ...This i guess runs on a windows server, where all Windows updates will be downloaded on the above machine and rest of the windows 98/2000/XP clients will eventually connect to the Software Update server and install updates. This will save every client machine from individually downloading the updates and also save internet bandwidth...Now I'd like to know

1. Names of few popular 'Software Update Server' (SUS) applications available

and

2. Which ones of them are commercial and which ones r free and

3. Links where I can get more info on such products....

Any help in this regard will be appreciated

AFAIK there's only one Microsoft "Software Update Server" System which is available for free (free as in beer, not free as in speech ;-):
