I was on my way to work, had to try to get phone camera going and trying to see in sunlight. Lucky to get what I did. Maybe could have followed him into the grass but....nooo.
I've had a number of rattle snakes and cotton mouths before but this is the first coral near my house.
I usually take rattlers for a ride. Put them in a trash can and drive them farther out in the country.

Thanks -- the world really is different for us all. I have some photographs of bees and, far as I can recall, they are the most poisonous creatures I have captured on camera.
I did try to recall whether it was yellow on red and you are dead or red on yellow and they are mellow but I clean forgot my vigorous* SAS** training.
EDIT:
What does that mean? For treating or curing diseases?

One component of the deathstalker's venom, the peptide chlorotoxin, has shown potential for treating human brain tumors.[14] There has also been some evidence to show that other components of the venom may aid in the regulation of insulin and could be used to treat diabetes
They warned us about a snake in Japan that was supposed to be one of the worst. Some viper as I recall.
I have high hopes that the animals on the earth have better cures than man made ones. Many animals and plants have created such complex ways to cope with the world that we may never know. As your link points out, we are our own worst enemy.
The worst enemies aren't a VIRUS or a genetic mutation under radiations?

Humans have been battling viruses since before our species had even evolved into its modern form. For some viral diseases, vaccines and antiviral drugs have allowed us to keep infections from spreading widely, and have helped sick people recover. For one disease smallpox we've been able to eradicate it, ridding the world of new cases.
by the way, melittin is also great against HIV and tumors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p245IE6_qf8
The benefits of this therapy are still uncertain, but the dangers are clear. what about survivors of Androctonus crassicauda?
