Hi everyone,
I'm new to C++ and programing in gerneral.
I'm using putty to write this simple program, and I saved it as an .exe file.
I tried opening the .exe in windowsxp, but it didint work.
Total n00b here, lay it on me
TIA

C++ is cross platform. Windows creates .exe you cannot save it to .exe. You need the compiler to take the source code and create a machine language code readable by the computer. This is a good site for newbies. http://www.cprogramming.com/

Putty ? Sounds Trollish .. There is newbie and there are lies. How would you use putty under windows XP to save a file. You would have to install a sshd daemon or so and then log in on Windows XP. Is there such a thing? I would doubt such proceedings would be the first port of call for a newbie.
