Cant work my wxWidgets prog. on windows

The title pretty much says it all. Im deciding what gui to use for programming in C++ and the only one i realy noticed was wxWidgets. So i compiled my program and then went on windows and tried to open it and i had problems... which i expected. So i downloaded wxWidgets for windows and i still have problems... which i definately didn't expect. Any help would be great. Also if u could suggest using something else for GUI's with C++, that'd be nice too. Is QT multiplatform capatible? Can it be used with C++???
