RH Enterprise ES

Installed RH Enterprise yesterday on a test box (IBM ThinkCentre A50). Flawless install, everything works, CD plays music also. Detected IBM flat panel etc etc. It runs very nice and quick. Also use firefox!! Highly recommend it.

Why not just run Whitebox Linux? If, that is, you don't want to fork out for RHEL. Whitebox is RHEL with some name changes - as I understand it, it runs very well.

Since it is for work and ending up on a Proliant ML370 I paid for it and also got the CDs. I've been running RH9.0 and Samba as Netware replacement. Never know when you need a support call for a production server, hasn't happened yet.

thanks, downloading the bittorrent now...

would you reccomend Whitebox or RH9 for apache/sendmail server. that basicaly is all it will be doing other then the built in firewall rule set.

sadly ill also have gnome installed as im to new to go 100% without some form of GUI interface, but will be on an ok system

amd athlon slotA 800
512M pc133 ram

for the small amount of hits my site takes and the small amount of e-mail i do, that should be more then beefy enough to handle those 2 services. or so i hope.
