Thx a bunch corp769, those spectrum analyzers are pretty cool but the thing is I was looking for something that would run inside conky window, so it would seam binded with the desktop while thoase are python made apps that natively can be executed with gnome-screenlets or they can be modified to be runned with conky but in the same manner, in a different window, and this ain't that good for me. I thought it would be nice to have a spectrum analyzer binded to my Desktop, like the Desktop was meant to have it. In conky if I would find a freaking application that could read the sound peak level in decibels or percentage I could easily make a graph that would do just what I need, the thing is I can't find that freaking app that would display the sound peak level in a terminal heh

Personally I don't see the point in the Compiz "Cube Sphere" thing. Desktops are supposed to be square, not curved! Besides, the Wall uses fewer GPU cycles (and looks better if you're on a laptop/netbook; IMO the Cube on a laptop screen doesn't make any sense...don't ask me why though ).

Apparently when run GNOME Shell now replaces your window border with a rather ugly one.

Sorry for offtopic but is there any thread on this forum which contains photos of users' computer setups?

Not that I am aware of. But you can start one if you like.

Most users put their desktop specs in their signatures.

Not that I know of Mr. Alex. But as dv502 recommended, a new thread will be your best bet.

Back on topic, after changing from Slackware to Arch Linux I felt the need to somewhat change my desktop but not at the same time. With more Gnome dependencies, I was able to install AWN and all the plugins and able to go away with Wbar. () It's not vastly different and I don't like having too much on my desktop, but here it is.
