Hi,
I'm having this very important job interview in one week, and I have to do a windows test before I can get it.
It's some helpdesk thing. Ok here's my question.
Does anyone know where I can find a really good complete guide for windows xp that covers everything? I don't find anything, thank god I use linux
Uou're doomed. I survived in Windows since 95, been useing Linux for a couple of months and I'm allready feeling unconfortable with such an inferor and insecure OS.
My only suggestion would be to awnser the question as if it was Linux.
Edit: thats probobly not such a good idea but its very hard to learn windows in a week, you may try reading XP for dummies cover to cover, but that may be a little too simplistic.
I know where you're coming! Up north, starts with Pi ends with Å? Do as I did: call you're friend while filling the form. Me neither had any Windows machine available when doing that test. Or you could go to library, too, and do it there.
Distribution: approximately NixOS (http://nixos.org)

Rather lots of things are in windows help skipping things like wordpad. And be ready that there are things you cannot learn in a week or even guess - but sometimes neither can interviewer or test author. As far as I remember I encountered problems covered in Windows 95 help and not in any other version of Windows; and there are subtle things known to experienced users that are not covered even in MSDN.
I've asked a friend who's done the test, and he says you have to know service pack 1 and service pack 2, difference and whats in those two version. Eh service pack?
Try Microsoft certification Books on Windows XP. It contains all the information that you require (Even the one that you dont require since most of it is crap anyway). But i do know a friend who gave that certification test and passes and he did not even own a PC at the time (well that is changed now he does own a box with win2000 now, but u get the idea). And it takes a lot of cramming...so get ready for that.. BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO, if they require you for windows DONT MENTION LINUX since most probably the interviewer does not know aabout it otherwise they would have shifted a long time AGO...lol
