i'm looking for a software that looks like Partition Magic. ie software that can simply help to re-partion a hard disk thats curently installed with an OS. ('cos i know that otherwise i have to re-format the whole drive, which i just dont want to)
any one with a clue or link?
should be for windows xp though
I have found the gparted live-cd as quite a replacement for Partition Magic, supports most filesystems, resizing (grow and shrink) partitions, move data, copy entire partitions or disks, etc. Comes with a lot of drivers and required libraries
Pretty neat project
Edit: doh! I have never seen a simultaneous triple post before!
Download Hiren's Boot CD ISO, create a bootable disk from it, and on it you will find many programs to help, several partition one's like Partition Magic, GParted and Acronis (my personal favorite)I have used all of them at one point or another and one time Partition Magic could not read my partitions, yet Acronis could. Luck to ya..
