Opteron 1207 and Crossfire?

OK, I guessing this question is sufficiently non-technical to be here. I don't think this belongs in the "Linux - Hardware" forum since it's not Linux specific, but I'm wondering:

How come there don't appear to be any motherboards that support Crossfire and Opteron Socket 1207? I'm a little surprised since I figured that since AMD bought ATI, they'd want people to use both.

I think it's odd since it's possible to get SLI with Dual Opterons, yet SLI is NVidian. The TYAN S2915A2NRF is an example of a motherboard that does this. But, there's no equivalent for Crossfire.
